A four-bedroom Centurion home cuts its Eskom draw by 72% with an 8kW Sunsynk hybrid system and lithium storage sized for load-shedding.
Spec stats:

| System size | 8kW Sunsynk hybrid |
| Storage | 10.65kWh Dyness lithium |
| Panels | 14 × 565W JA Solar |
The Brief
The homeowners were running a diesel generator through every stage of load-shedding and wanted it gone. Their priority was uninterrupted power for the kitchen, home office and borehole pump, without over-specifying a system they would never fully use.
The Build
AfriSunTech assessed twelve months of municipal bills before sizing the system. An 8kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter was paired with 10.65kWh of Dyness lithium storage and fourteen 565W JA Solar panels across the north-facing roof section. The DB board was reconfigured to place essential circuits on the backup side, with the geyser and pool pump left on grid supply to keep the battery reserved for critical loads. Installation and commissioning took three days, and the certificate of compliance was issued on handover.
The Result
The household now draws roughly 72% less from the grid across a typical month, and the generator has been sold. During load-shedding the changeover is seamless — no interruption to Wi-Fi, alarm system or lighting. Remote monitoring lets the owners track production and consumption from their phones, and AfriSunTech reviews system performance at the six-month service.
